Making Shelves
There’s a need for shelving in the shed for such things as boxes of assorted nut & bolts and a collection of various thicknesses of wire. To that end I set to work with the mitre saw and the help of #1 Son.
We decided on a six shelf unit, each shelf comprising five lengths of wood with a support at each end. Here’s one shelf cut up and ready for assembly.#1Son assembling one of the shelves.
Here’s the finished construction. Note the diagonal cross bracing on the sides and back. It doesn’t take much to add a surprising amount of rigidity to the structure!
The finished shelf in place and filling up rapidly. Might need to make another soon. Tomorrow – benches.
